Hyde Park Chicago Hotel

As others have said this is in a great location close to most of the stuff you might want to do if you’re visiting Chicago and a very good option if you drove to the city. Many hotels in the area charge for parking this hotel has 2 free parking spaces per room and charges $20 for additional. We had expensive stuff in our truck and I felt safe that it wouldn’t be stolen in the parking area. These were the main reasons for choosing this hotel. The hotel was reasonably priced for where it was and including parking but the taxes and fees jumped the price quite a bit I think around $30 extra. It has free breakfast that was average and disappointing that it didn’t open until 7. The room was dated the bed was comfortable but the room really smelled like septic or wet socks. Luckily we had air fresheners with us as it was necessary. The hotel is close to all lot of food options but i don’t recommend their snack bar. I understand it’s Downtown Chicago but $3 foot 1 can of soda I thought was steep. Bring your own snacks if possible. If I had to I’d stay there again but as we were just working nearby and not taking advantage of everything downtown we drove farther and stayed in Crest Wood for the next night stay.

The concierge lady (Lisa) was very very helpful and accommodated me over my expectation. She got me in the room without a delay, and offered me two free water bottles, and gym access card. As a Diamond member, I felt treated like a king and my stay was awesome.

Enjoyed our 5 days stay there in August. My wife & baby were pleased with the hotel services. We requested & got a baby crib. The guy that checked us in was nice. The Housekeeper did nice job & were efficient. The gym was small but nice too. Lisa who attended to our requests/check-out was wonderful. Would stay again & recommend.

Great hotel if you’re looking to stay short term near the city. You’re about 10-15 minutes (expect 20 for traffic). There is also parking in a designated lot. The rooms are great. Looks very clean. Breakfast was also pretty great what I do like the most is that they do offer hot drinks at 24 hours so you can always grab a coffee whenever The only issue is , - check in early? You have to pay additional $50USD. - receptionist could smile or be a bit easier to talk to

I will have to say I enjoyed my stay here! Got a room with two queen size beds. I'm in town for work and wanted a hotel close to the lake. Love this location, very pleased to know they have their own parking garage connected to the hotel main lobby. Very convenient and makes my stay here in Chicago a little more stress free. The rooms were very clean, towels were well kept. The view from my room wasn't towards the lake which is a bummer but it wasn't too much of a big deal since I was there for work anyways so I only needed the room for the night. They have complimentary breakfast which is very nice to add. Over all, I enjoyed my stay here. Unlike the hotels downtown, this hotel actually smells clean and looks well kept.

we made the most of our Saturday night stay for the Museum of Science's Wine Festival event! Checked in at 3 with ease and settled in our room with a street view!! Total Chi-town vibes all the way and although we claim to be suburbanites we know Hyde park very well!! Had a great staff that accompanied all of our needs and the morning food after a long night of sipping vino and having adult fun made it east to get ready for some city views!!! We will be back next time around the museum bend and we recommend this hotel for anyone that wants close proximity to Hyde park for less than $300 a night!

Hotel was clean and my room was in good condition. The hotel had parking which was a huge plus (and one of the reasons I picked this one.) Staff was friendly and very helpful, the entire stay and experience was pleasant. Even had a "OK" view of the lake which was an added benefit I wasn't expecting. For a budget hotel this was very nice and I'd be happy to stay here again. It was a great location to stay to visit the aquarium and museums.

Free parking in a covered ramp was a real plus. The hotel lobby and rooms were not elaborate but were clean and adequate. Many rooms have at least a partial view of Lake Michigan and Lake Shore Drive. Breakfast when we were there on a weekday was very limited, either packaged muffins or breakfast bars, (not both), apples (sometimes), and packages of instant oatmeal. Although there were no restaurants right by the hotel, a half mile walk away is a neighborhood with a variety of interesting restaurants and shops, and it is just a short drive to several of Chicago's most popular museums.
